Piglottie Helps Princess!

For those who don't know, the wonderful Piglottie has been supporting my fundraising by making and selling her fabulous handmade greetings cards and auctioning off unwanted yarn. I encourage you to check in on her blog as much as possible for updates (the cards have gone down so well she will be making and selling them throughout the summer) and not miss out!

My consignment of wedding cards just arrived and I'm absolutely thrilled with them!

Baking Barbie

Very little knitting has been going on, so instead, I thought I'd share what I have been up to - baking!Above is a Malteser Cake (Nigella Lawson recipe from Feast) that I made for my friend Georgie to thank her for all the support she's given me over the past few months.

Below is the Simnel Cake I made my Mummy for Mother's Day (again Nigella/Feast), as I discovered its a traditional Mothering Sunday offering and she LOVES marzipan!
And then, partly inspired by Piglottie who just made a load of chocolate cup cakes, partly desperate to make something kitsch and partly to lavish some attention on someone special, I made these beauties!
And as you can see, took a lot of pictures of them. They are Nigella Lawson's Love Buns, but this time not done with heart sprinkles for Valentine's Day, but with Barbie sprinkles for an academic conference.
Are they the prettiest cakes you've ever seen? I think so!

Actual Knitting Proof!

Hang on, way back over Christmas I did some knitting! This is a picture of my second attempt at a One Skein Wonder Clutch - to be honest, it didn't go much better than the first one! Despite having been run through the machine over eight times, it still hasn't entirely felted, which is distressing, but I did get this wonderful string of flowers from Liberty which I think make up for it. It now belongs to my friend Suzanne and will hopefully be taken to many a pub!
